Supreme Leader: People of Qom Delivered Firm Response to Enemy Plots

Ayatollah Khamenei the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution met this morning with the officials of Qom province.
The meeting was also attended by the Iranian vice-president, cabinet members and the representatives of the people of Qom in the Majlis.
During the meeting, Ayatollah Khamenei said that rendering services to the people is a valuable opportunity. He added: "After the victory of the Islamic Revolution, special attention was paid to the city of Qom, but the process of reconstruction of the city has been accelerated during the past 5 years."
Ayatollah Khamenei stressed that this accelerated process has to be continued and said that the backwardness which Qom province suffers from will be compensated if the process of reconstruction continues with the same speed.
Ayatollah Khamenei referred to the vast propaganda of the enemies about the city of Qom during the recent days and said that this is a fact which is indicative of the importance of this city.
He added: "One of the propaganda plans of the enemies during the past thirty years has been to undermine and degrade the symbols of the Revolution and Islam - particularly the city of Qom."
His Eminence further reiterated: "The enemies have always developed special plans for the city of Qom which is the center of the greatness of Islam and raising the flag of the Revolution. One of their plans was to develop a base for opposing the Islamic Revolution in the city of Qom."
The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution said that trying to influence the thoughts and emotions of the people of Qom is a plan which is being pursued by the enemies. He added that making double efforts to render services to the people of Qom and solving the living problems of the people of this city is the only way of opposing this plan.
The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution said: "By their enthusiastic presence during the recent days, the people of Qom delivered a firm response to the plots and propaganda of the enemies."
The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution further referred to the cabinet meeting which was held in Qom province today and said that the plans which are ratified by the administration as well as the decisions which were made in today's meeting should be pursued and implemented in a careful and serious manner.
At the end of his remarks, Ayatollah Khamenei expressed his gratitude to the officials of Qom province for the services they rendered during the recent days.
