The International Conference on Mahdiism and the Waiting in the Thought of Ayatollah Safi Golpayegani was held and organized by Islamic Sciences and Culture Academy, on May 11, 2023 at Dar-Shifa' Higher School, Qom, Iran. 

First, Dr. Elhaninejad, the scientific secretary of the conference, welcomed all the participants and started the conference with his speech and gave a report about the conference. 

He said, "Since last year, we have received 116 articles and held 16 scientific meetings. We have also produced 3000 pages of scientific content, and published six volumes in the form of collection of articles, one volume book on the scientific meetings and one volume for the abstracts of the articles."

Professor Ahmad Vaezi, Head of Islamic Propagation Office of Qom Seminary, gave his speech and stated, "Imam Khomeini (pbuh) said that the seminary should have the pulse of the present and the future in hand, but unfortunately, sometimes it feels like we do not have the pulse of the present in our hands. One of our neglects in these four decades was that many decisions in Iran were made without paying attention to Fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence). Making decisions without considering Fiqh is one of our neglects in these forty years."


The video message of Ayatollah Noori Hamedani was played at the conference and this grand ayatollah's message can be summarized in one sentence. He stated, "Ayatollah Grand Ayatollah Safi Golpayegani (pbuh) was a clear brave jurist."

Ayatollah A'arafi, the head of Islamic Seminaries of Iran was the lecturer of the opening ceremony. He said, "The theological approach and hadith approach in the Ayatollah Safi Golpayegani's book Muntakhab al-Athar is unique." He also clarified that the first point in this work is the author of this work, he has a privileged position in fiqh and science, which casts a shadow on the work.


Then, professor of Islamic Seminary, Mohammad Hassan Safi Golpayegani presented a speech and stated, "Today, we have a duty not only to talk about the book Muntakhab al-Athar, but also to create a chair in this regard in the Islamic Seminary."

Finally, some selected works of this conference were unveiled, and in the afternoon, the authors in the four specialized panels presented 80 articles on the topics of interest.
